Skounsi sa vanilom* Vanilla scones

Skounsi su bili jedno od prvih peciva , koje je moja mama poćela d apravi kad smo se doselili na Novi Zeland. Nema engleskijeg peciva od ovog a ni lakšeg. Oni ga najradije jedu sa umućenim šlagom i pekmezom. A i mi ga tako volimo

Sastojci

4 šolje samodizajućeg brašna ( ili obično brašno sa kašičicom sode bikarbona i praška za pecivo)

1Kašika sitnog šećera

1 Kašika pavlake

1 šolja mleka

2 kašičice vanila ekstrakta



Priprema

Predgrejemo rernu na 190 stepeni C. Ravan pleh pomastimo ili stavimo pek papir

U činiji imušamo brašno, šećer i prstohvat soli

U drugoj činiji umešamo pavlaku, vanilu i mleko i uspemo u brašno.

Izvadimo na radnu površinu pa umesimo glatko testo
Rukama tanjimo testo do oko 2.5 cm debljine, pa čašom vadimo krugove. Skounse redjamo na pleh sa malo razmaka

Pečemo 12 do 15 minuta dok ne porumene



Kada ih izvadimo ostavimo prekrivene, da se hlade oko 10 minuta

Vanilla scones




Scones were the first dough that my mother started making after we arrived in New Zealand. They can not be more English. Loved with a dollop of cream and nice jam.

Ingredients
  • 4 cups self-raising flour
  • 1 tablespoon caster sugar
  • 1 cup thickened cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla essence


Create

Preheat oven to 190°C. Line a flat baking tray with baking paper. Sift flour, sugar and a pinch of salt into a large bowl.
  • Combine cream, milk and vanilla in a jug. Pour into dry ingredients. Stir with a flat-bladed knife to combine. Turn onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently until smooth.
  • Pat dough out to a 2.5cm-thick round.Using a 5cm scone cutter, cut 12 scones from dough. Gently press remaining dough together and repeat. Place scones on prepared tray, allowing a little room for spreading. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden. Remove from oven. Cover with a clean tea towel and stand scones on tray for 10 minutes.
