Hleb Halva *Bread Halva

Ovaj recept sam dobila od komšinice, koja je Indijka. Mene u suštini podseća na poparu, samo što ima više začina. U svakom slučaju je vredno probati.

Sastojci
 6 kriški hleba
1/2 šolje šećera
2 šolje mleka
1/2 šolje bistrog putera Ghee
Orasi i ili lešnici
Šaka suvog grozdja
1 kašičica kardamoma u prahu
1 kašičica cimeta
1 kašičica  vanila ekstarkta
Pavlaka na vrh



Priprema

Prvo iseckane orahe i lešnike propržimo u ghee pa izvadimo.
Sada u dublji tiganj sipamo hleb isečen na komade, propržimo , dok porumeni
Sipamo mleko pa mešamo dok se sve ne zgusne

Uspemo suvo groždje , kardamom, vanilu, šečer i dalje dobro mešamo još nekoliko minuta.
Sipamo u posudice i dodamo pavlaku

Bread Halva

This dish reminds me of a dish from my home country  , where its called Popara. Except it has far less ingredients than this one. Recipe was given to me by my Indian neighbour. It is very tasty indeed




Ingredients:

Bread - 6 slices
Sugar - 1/2 cup or to taste
Milk - 2 cups
Ghee - 1/2 cup + 1 tbs
Cashews, walnuts or hazelnuts a handful
Raisans /  a handful
Cardamom Powder - 1/2 tsp
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp cinnamon
Cream for topping




Method:

Remove the crust and chop it into small pieces.

Heat ghee in a pan, add in nuts and fry till golden.Add in  raisins

 and fry. Remove it and set aside.

Now add in chopped bread in the ghee and fry till golden brown. 

Now add in milk and mix well. Keep cooking till it thickens.

Add in sugar and mix well. Keep cooking till it starts to leave the sides.

Finally add a Tbs of ghee and mix well. Add in nuts and cardamom powder,vanilla and cinammon and mix well.

Serve, topped with cream
